After a phone interview, I got an email to come in for an in-person interview. I met with the interviewer, who got my name initially wrong, which I didn't think much about because she switched up days accidentally, no biggie. She then begins to talk to me about job opportunities for different companies. It caught me off guard and I say that I'm here to interview for a specific role within 1st employment and she says the spot was filled internally (with someone from the same small building) a week ago. I got the email to come in for an interview less than a week ago, so she should have known, especially since it's an employee who was promoted within and in the same small building. So essentially, that was a complete waste of my time. The interviewer is one of the talent acquisition managers which means she makes commission on placing people in jobs. I genuinely think this was a scam to bring me in to place me into a different job and she pretended to not already know that the role I was initially interviewing with was filled an entire week ago, all so she could make commission off me. By the way, the other jobs she was trying to push me into were not fit for me at all and had nothing to do with my major, or experience, or interests. She also tried to convince me (as a recent (business) college grad with multiple internship experience) that I shouldn't expect to make more than $13-$14 an hour... I can make more working at a McDonalds. This place was an unorganized, dishonest, sketchy and a wack job show through and through. I honestly can't even believe my experience I had there...
