I had 6 one-on-one interviews spanning 5 different dates. One phone screen, one call with the Director, 2 with members of the team (people who would be direct reports), and 2 with internal stakeholders of the role. Three of the calls were a combination of technical and situational questions, and the other were solely situational. The process spanned a month and a half. After the 6th call, I received a generic email indicating that they decided to move forward with "candidates whose experience more closely align with what we are looking for." After making time for 5 interviews, I was shocked by the lack of effort put into informing me of their decision. When I wrote back asking for feedback to inquire around what skills or experience would have made me a stronger candidate, I did not receive a response. Overall each of the interviews was a positive experience, but the lack of respect that was shown at the end of the process is concerning and disappointing.
