How is the work/life balance at Microsoft?

Decent pay, good benefits, work life balance is excellent, working from home is lovely

The company is so woke. Why am I forced to write a DEI review in my annual review. It should be meritocracy only.

The people here are still great for the most part, and there are good benefits in terms of health care, insurance, etc.

The pay has never been good, but the culture and work life balance used to make up for it. Now, the culture is falling apart due to increased pressure, cuts to funding for morale and ERGs, and layoffs. The pressure to ship quickly is high, but the barriers to get things done are only getting higher and higher. Leadership still hasn't figured out a solid direction in terms of AI, so priorities are constantly changing and re-orgs happen almost monthly.
