What is health insurance like at Hill+Knowlton Strategies?

Pros

If you're white then you'll be fine.

Cons

The lack of color and overall diversity that I saw during my time there was disappointing. To add to it, the diverse people that were hired seem to come off as office tokenism. If you're of color, you'll definitely be treated differently. You can work as hard as you may, but if there's one white person the same level as you and they are doing poorly, they will likely still be noticed over you. The white privilege is strong with some folk as they fail to see or even acknowledge that they make micro-aggressive remarks. My favorite thing that I heard during my time there is I was too loud with my opinions. As a person of color, that doesn't fly with me. Another thing, for the fellows, the benefits are not that great. You don't get paid time off. You don't get the best health insurance to give yourself some security. It is a mess and more should be done. More should be done for every diverse group. More should be done to educate associates on proper cultural conversations.

Advice to Management

If you're going to be a leader then lead the whole team. Don't just pick the one you like and focus all the learning and work on them. If you're going to hire people of color or LGBTQ , educate yourself on their cultures. If you're going to hire people, don't use them as tools for six months and have the decency to prepare them for their professional careers.

You don't get the best health insurance to give yourself some security.
