Does FactSet offer dental insurance?

Pros

They are very accommodating to fresh graduates. Great benefits package and perks (competitive HMO, medical and dental reimbursements), especially pre-pandemic (holiday party is grand & epic, free drinks, free shuttle service/home drop off, etc.). Not strict on vacation leave (TLs usually approve it immediately, esp during off-peak seasons). Approachable colleagues, most of them are easy to get along with. Great performance bonus (for this year, it’s actually bigger than my basic pay).

Cons

- too much organizational restructuring, sometimes employees don’t know anymore who to report to because of constant changes in the higher ups - salary is lower than the industry standard - too little opportunities for growth and career advancement, slow promotion, very few opportunities to transfer to other departments (IJPs). some job postings inside the organization are not inclusive to all employees - peak season are the worst! you’ll realize that you are indeed a corporate slave! some analysts work 15-20 hours during this season! despite that, some of the higher ups are still inconsiderate and only treat their employees and their work as numbers and statistics to reach the threshold. you’ll definitely not be rewarded fairly based on your hard work and efforts. - toxic policy changes. they will frame this as “process improvement”, but the thing is, they just want to make the employees suffer. - some TLs and managers loves to micromanage their subordinates. it often leads to burnout and destroy the team dynamics and obstruct employees motivation to work

Advice to Management

Rethink and try to reconstruct the metrics you use to measure employees performance. Some of it are not grounded on the reality and nature of employees work. I hope there is another way to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts and contributions of your employees because some of them are just wasted. The hardworkers who really created an impact to the process improvement usually got burnout and stress because they never get the necessary acknowledgment and appreciation that they deserve. They could’ve contributed more to the development and progress of the company, but instead, they seek better opportunities to other companies and use their talents and skills there. FactSet is a great company and I am really fortunate to be able to work and gain experience here. There are just things on the management level that needs improving and re-evaluating. Continue to do the great things, but I know you can still do better.
