Current Employee - Postdoctoral Research Scientist

I have been working at Queen Mary, University of London full-time

Pros

Nice environment in the uni

Cons

Not so much organised admin

Current Employee - Business Development Manager

I have been working at Squire Patton Boggs full-time for less than a year

Pros

It's a genuinely friendly firm which makes working here a lot of fun. The partners are generally a fairly straightforward bunch and it's at the less hierarchical end of the US spectrum. The BD and... marketing function is resourced tightly - however the people I have been working with have been really professional and helpful.

Cons

Salaries and holidays in Asia seem to be tighter than at some other international firms. That said maybe I did not negotiate well!

Advice to Management

I'd say the firm needs to be more aggressive in BD efforts. However the management are moving in that direction...
