People being let go bc of comparing performance against peers is bs. upgrading the team? how come other rigorous fields (investment banking, medicine, Big Law, oil & gas engineering, trading firms, etc) don’t feel the need to do this, yet they have the right people the teams need every year 😂 consulting isn’t the most rigorous/difficult/or prestigious career. just say it’s for the greed of the firm, at the cost of unempathetically uprooting employees lives & at least you’ll be honest.
I was just terminated from the deals group. I’ve let myself go in terms of my health and weight. I figured I’d use a good chunk of the severance time to get in shape over the summer and focus on my health but my friends and family are pushing me to find a way to juggle both and call me crazy for taking my time. My plan is to build a morning routine of fitness and work that into my new schedule when I’m rehired. Any thoughts ?

SM will range from 190 to 230 base. I am at 215 base - 2 year SM.
SM2 - I am not sure what your situation is but I was an SM at D 8 years ago. As a 4th year SM in HCOL, my base was $230K with 30% bonus target. I joined another Big 4 as a Director at $265K plus 30% bonus target. By the time I made Partner (2 years after that), my base was $285K plus 30% target bonus. I made my target bonus both years at my current Firm.
Yes. Usually in our Firm, the year you make partner you get some extra bonus (in addition to your 30% target bonus). I made 120% of the bonus target that year. There are usually three tiers/cohorts for a first year partner you can land on. Cohort 1 will make around $500K and Cohort 2 will make around $550K and Cohort 3 will make around $600K . This is based upon the share/unit value of your firm obviously. Remember as a Partner, you have to pay for your 401K match and Health, Dental and Life (mandatory) insurance. Plus you would be paying towards the low interest loan that you might have availed to buy the units allocated to you. All in all, your first two years don’t feel like a lot better for cash flow but it significantly changes starting from year 3. As I said in previous post, once you hit that 5 year mark you will be looking at 7 figure mark (if you are a high performer and consistently beating your sales/revenue goals). I have no knowledge of Accenture, never worked there.
